Terms & Conditions

By booking a ticket to a Boo Events’ event, you acknowledge your acceptance of Boo Events’ Terms and Conditions and warrant that you have the right, authority and capacity to enter into this agreement and to abide by all of our terms and conditions as set out below:

General

• Boo Events is not a matchmaking service, dating agency or introduction agency, we simply host events where single people can meet one another in a safe, comfortable and relaxed environment.
• Please check carefully the venue, date and time of the event when booking as mistakes cannot always be rectified after the booking is confirmed. In these circumstances Boo Events is not obliged to refund or exchange but if it does may charge an administration fee.
• We will not divulge your contact or personal details to anyone without your express permission, unless required to do so by law.
• We may use your contact details to inform you of future events, which we think, may be of interest to you.
• If due to any unforeseen circumstances we are no longer able to hold an event at the venue as originally planned, we reserve the right to move the event to an alternative venue. In this unlikely instance, we will always provide our guests with as much notice as possible. You should always check Boo Events’ website on the day of the event you have booked.
• We are not able to accept cancellations, as the quality and success of our event would be compromised by an uneven ratio of males/females.
• We accept no responsibility for any content arising in any written or verbal communications which may arise from one of our events where members of the press are in attendance.
• Boo Events’ events are held at venues across the UK over which we have no control. Therefore, in the event that you are injured, or suffer damages to yourself or your personal items, of any kind at one of our events, you agree to release Boo Events from any liability with respect thereof.
• By registering with Boo Events you warrant that you are at least 18 years old and that you are single.
• Your use of the Boo Events service is for your sole, personal use. You may not authorise others to use your user details, and you may not assign or otherwise transfer your account to any other person or entity. Upon registering with Boo Events, your email and mobile number may be used for internal marketing purposes unless opt out is selected. Any unsubscribes or opt outs will be removed within 7 days and no longer used for in house promotions. We do not exchange your details with any other party.
• We reserve the right to cancel any event and provide a full refund, but no other compensation, in this unlikely case.
• When you book an event with Boo Events, you must supply a daytime telephone number OR mobile phone number for at least ONE guest on the booking. In the event that we are forced to cancel or move an event due to circumstances beyond our control, we will NOT take any responsibility if you arrive at an event unless you have supplied us with telephone contact details.
• You are responsible for turning up to an event on time. If you turn up late to an event, we are under no obligation to allow you to participate in the event, nor offer any refund or compensation. We will however do our best to accommodate you into the event, but this is not always possible.

At the event

• Please ensure that you look after your personal property at all times. Boo Events cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage to your personal property while at the event and/or in the venue.
• On some occasions the event may be filmed, sound recorded or photographed. Buying a ticket affirms your consent to the filming, recording or photography or yourself as a participant in the event and subsequent possible broadcast/ publication.
• We cannot and do not verify personal information on our guests, such as gender, marital status, or any other aspects of their general background. It is your responsibility to verify personal information to your own satisfaction and we recommend that you do so.
• Please approach any contact with our guests with the same caution you would undertake when meeting other people for the first time.
• We do our utmost to ensure that the ratio of males/females at all events is a 50/50 ratio and the website has technology built in to ensure that tickets are sold on an even ratio to allow all guests to have around 20 dates. However, due to potentially unforeseen circumstances on the evening of the event, we accept no responsibility for either an uneven ratio, or shortfall in male/female guests at the event, preventing this from being possible.
• We reserve the right to refuse admission or to expel, without refund, guests who become abusive and/or offensive to other guests at an event through excessive alcohol.

• We do not guarantee that any guest will successfully match with another guest at our events. However, if a guest receives no matches from an event, then they are able to attend one future event within the same postcode area of the same or lower ticket value as their original ticket purchase within 6 months from the original event.
• By booking a Boo Events’ event you accept that you have an opportunity to meet new people but that Boo Events does not guarantee that any participant will match successfully with another participant or that a any meeting between participants after an event will be successful.
• We take no responsibility for any emotional distress, or physical injury that may arise from communications with other guests registered with Boo Events, without limitation, either during, or at any stage after one of our events.
• Mobile phones, pagers, digital cameras and other similar devices must be turned off at all times during the event. Boo Events reserves the right to expel any guest who they believe is recording any aspect of the event or other guest’s details.

Links and Disclaimer

• Boo Events may provide links on its website to the websites of others. Boo Events cannot accept any liability for the content of such third party websites. This disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights against the third party.
• Boo Events is not liable for any damage without limitation resulting from the use of Boo Events’ website. Although Boo Events has made every effort to develop a robust fully secure online booking service we disclaim liability for security issues which occur as a result of using the online booking facility.

Complaints

• If you feel you are not experiencing the level of service you expected and wish to leave the event at some point before it ends, you are entitled to give your reasons and ask the event manager for a refund before you leave. Such request will be considered and a response sent to you within 5 working days.
• If you feel the event was not what you expected Boo Events would like to hear about it as and when it is going wrong for you and/or your group. There is little point telling us about it a week or a day after the event. Letting the event manager know as soon as a problem occurs gives them and is a chance of dealing with it quickly and professionally.
• No remedy will be considered unless complaint is made during the event about which the complaint arises.

Liability

• Boo Events liability to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise is limied to the purchase price of the ticket you have purchased.
• In the unfortunate event that an event has to be cancelled or abandoned part way through Boo Events will not be liable for any accommodation travel or other costs you incur.
• Boo Events will not accept liability for any indirect, special or consequential losses including for example loss of profits revenue data or goodwill.
• These terms and conditions do not affect you statutory rights as a consumer.
• Nothing in these terms and conditions limits Boo Events liability for death or personal injury caused by Boo Events negligence or any other matter for which it would be illegal to limit liability.

Communications

• Applicable laws require that some of the information or communications sent by Boo Events to you should be in writing. When using Boo Events’ website you accept that communications with Boo Events shall be mainly electronic.
• Boo Events will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on its website. For contractual purposes you agree to these means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that Boo Events provides to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
• This section does not affect your statutory rights.

Notices

• All notices given by you to Boo Events must be given in writing to Leah Davies, Boo Events, Keswick, Cumbria, or by e-mail to info@booevents.com.
• Boo Events may give notice to you at either the e-mail address or postal address you provided when making your booking or in any of the ways specified in the section above Communications.
• Notice will be deemed to received and properly served immediately when posted on Boo Events’ website, 24 hours after an e-mail is sent and 3 days after the posting of any letter.
• In proving service of any notice it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that the letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and in the case of an e-mail that the e-mail was sent to the addressee’s specified e-mail address.

Law & Jurisdiction

• These Terms and conditions for events will be governed by English law. Any dispute over or claims arising from these terms or and contracts will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts although Boo Events retains the right to bring proceedings against you for breaking these terms or any contract in your country of residence or any other relevant country.
