Speed Dating

Speed Dating – what is it?

Speed dating offers everyone the opportunity to meet and socialise with people of a similar age in a casual, relaxed, safe environment.

It’s an opportunity to meet and date upto 15 people all in one night, who are serious about wanting to be in a relationship. You will date each person for three minutes, giving you the opportunity to decide if you may want to see that person again.

These events are arranged by age categories, and are held on weekday nights in Carlisle, Workington, Cockermouth and Kendal.

How it works?

Once you’ve booked your place all you need to do is turn up. Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by your host for the evening Leah, where you’ll be given a name badge with a number and a score card. There’s plenty of time to get a drink and relax. Remember the great thing about speed dating, is everyone is there to meet someone, so everyone’s in the same boat.

Once all participants have arrived your host will give you a quick welcome speech to advise of the nights activities.

Each participant will take a seat at the table with the same number as their badge, the 3 minutes will begin where your free to chat away with your date. After 3 minutes the bell will ring and gentlemen will move onto the next table while the ladies remain seated. After each date you’ll have enough time to make notes. You’ll also have a 15 minute break half way through the night.

Three minutes turns out to be the perfect amount of time, as it’s short enough to leave your date wanting more if they’re interested but it’s also not too long if the other person turns out to be a disaster for you. To avoid any awkward silences it’s a good idea to prepare a few questions to ask your date. Here’s a few of

What happens next?

If by the end of the night you like someone or maybe even a couple of people, use your score card to tick if you’d like to see anyone again. Hand your score card to your host and make sure you’ve filled in the section for your own contact details. Your host will collect all score cards and if there are matches, she will contact you the next day with your dates number and email address.

It couldn’t be any easier!
